Up to 1 in 4 people will experience mental health problems in any year. Whilst the headline number is staying stable, the proportion who suffer suicidal thoughts or resort to self-harm is growing. This awareness course looks at the most common mental health "problems," their symptoms, causes, diagnosis and treatments. It explains the legislation and guidance related to mental health, especially the effect of the different sections of the Mental Health Act.
